The 2009 Clean Tech Open

on March 30, 2009 Source: Policy Dialogue on Entrepreneurship

A group of California-based entrepreneurs are getting very serious about building a new green economy. They’ve recently announced a major expansion of the Clean Tech Open, a four-year old business plan competition that has supported innovation in California’s Clean Tech sector.

This year’s Open has expanded to two new regions: the Rocky Mountain region (Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming) and the Pacific Northwest (Idaho, Oregon, and Washington). Early stage firms in these regions are encouraged to submit business plans, with the prospect of winning up to $250,000 in cash and support services. Past winners of the Clean Tech Open have done well for themselves, raising more than $125 million in outside funding.

In case you are interested in applying--or know someone who is--the application period is open until May 30, 2009.
