The National Ignition Facility Laser Event Bringing Star Power To Earth
The National Ignition Facility Laser Event will be held in the Department of Water Resources Building Auditorium, Monday April 22, 2013.
Presentation and Laser Showtimes: 11am-12pm and 1:30-2:30pm
Interactive Exhibit: 10:30-2:30pm (Note: the Exhibit will be open before and after the presentations.)
Dr. Zhi Liao will present an interactive exhibit on NIF and some of its high-tech components, including a virtual immersive tour of NIF facility.
A.J. Simon will describe Lawrence Livermore National Lab's (LLNL's) National Ignition Facility (NIF), the world's largest laser designed to demonstrate fusion science at the laboratory scale. Then A.J will explain the science and engineering behind LIFE (Laser Inertial Fusion Energy), a potential clean and Sustainable form of power for the future.
