Angel Capital Summit 2014 Denver
The Angel Capital Summit is an annual conference that connects investors with entrepreneurial companies seeking funding. The conference includes education benefiting both angel investors and entrepreneurs, networking segments, pitches with VC commentary and Venture Bucks awards. The Angel Capital Summit is hosted by the Rockies Venture Club.
The theme for this year’s Angel Capital Summit is “Building Value” The conference will present thought leaders addressing value creation from many angles such as building brand value, intellectual property, market share, customer value, team building, value in M&A, and minimizing risk. Over twenty companies will be pitching for angel and venture capital at the summit – demonstrating how they are creating value through disruptive innovation and execution.
This year will be our biggest Angel Capital Summit yet with great ideas, great companies and opportunities for Angels/VCs to invest together.

All-Colorado University Startup Challenge
Day 1: March 18, 2014 Investors and entrepreneurs will sit side by side in a series of workshops focusing on the key topics on Building Value. The conference will present thought leaders addressing value creation from many angles such as building brand value, intellectual property, market share, customer value, team building, value in M&A, and minimizing risk.
Day 1 ends with a cocktail reception featuring the companies who will be pitching at the ACS on Wednesday 3/19. You will have a chance to meet the CEOs and management teams of these companies on a personal basis before seeing them up on the stage on Wednesday.
Day 2: March 19, 2014 Up to thirty five of Colorado’s top entrepreneurial companies who have gone through an extensive pitch coaching process will pitch to angel and venture capital investors in a five minute pitch/five minute Q&A format. Venture Capitalists will provide their input and commentary in-between the pitches to provide insight into how VCs approach deals.
Day 2 ends with the Venture Bucks awards. Each attendee at this years’ Angel Capital Summit will receive $100,000 in Venture Bucks to “invest” in their favorite companies. The companies that receive the most investment at the day of the event will be recognized at the awards ceremony. Of course, the goal is to provide “real life” funding for as many of the companies as possible, but this can take three to six months or longer, so the Venture Bucks gives us a preview of what the audience thinks.
After the event March 20, 2014 8:00am, RVC’s Angel Investing Groups will meet at the DU Joy Burns Hospitality Center for our once annual All-Area Angel Investor Forum, bringing together angels from the Denver Tech Center, Boulder and Golden to discuss the pitches and collaborate together on investing in the companies. We will discuss what criteria and resources angels can use to evaluate deals. This all-area angel meeting is held only once a year – and we take this time to get to know each other and to choose which of the many companies pitching at ACS we want to continue to look at and pursue due diligence.
After the 2014 Angel Capital Summit, RVC investors syndicated with other investors around the country to invest over $15 million in 24 companies that pitched at Rockies Venture Club.
