What do healthcare accelerators and incubators do?

Healthcare accelerators and incubators are organizations that support healthcare entrepreneurs and their startups. This support could include funding, mentorship opportunities, introductions to key stakeholders, work space, and more. Healthcare accelerators and incubators are frequently made up of entrepreneurs, funders including angels, corporate investors, and venture capitalists, and doctors and other healthcare experts. Many take an equity stake in the company.

While accelerators and incubators sometimes offer public events, healthcare entrepreneurs must apply to reap most of the benefits. Examples of prominent healthcare accelerators and incubators include Blueprint Health, Rock Health, and StartUp Health.

FAQs are a weekly feature on eMed for current and aspiring healthcare entrepreneurs.
