Three Things Entrepreneurs Do

Thom Ruhe, Director of Entrepreneurship, The Kauffman Foundation

This summer the Kauffman Foundation released The Startup Act. The comprehensive proposal for new legislation is aimed at jump-starting our nation’s economy through more successful startups. And it’s is grounded by Kauffman data. Data showing that virtually all new job growth in the United States has been driven by firms less than five years old. Data proving that these new firms have been disproportionately responsible for commercializing the cutting-edge innovations that characterize modern life. And data confirming that more firms than ever have been created each year since the last recession began.

The data supporting the purpose and contents of The Startup Act are compelling. But sometimes, a little visual helps too. Take a look at Kauffman’s new illustrative video on the “Three Things Entrepreneurs Do.” In just over three minutes, you’ll get why entrepreneurs are a breed all their own—and our nation’s economic heroes.
